You don't get a machine when you buy a Gulf States Saw & Machinery Co., Inc. mass finishing product. Instead, you get a complete, worry-free package. Our in-house production of mass finish equipment and media, customer-focused designs, our own trained service technicians, spare parts, and waste water recycling make Gulf States Saw & Machinery Co., Inc. mass ending equipment a complete and sustainable solution for our customers.
Mass finishing with a centrifugal barrel tumbler can be performed either wet or dry. Wet processes use a liquid lubricant, cleaner or abrasive, and dry processes do not. Each of the four barrels is loaded to roughly 50-80% of capacity with the following elements:
Regardless of the number of steps in your process, each step must be performed separately. In other words, you cannot perform deburring and polishing simultaneously. Instead, deburr first, then polish. If more than one step is required, the steps must be performed in ascending order of smoothness, with deburring first and polishing last.
The three types of work that centrifugal barrel-finishing machines can do are known as steps. You may not need to perform all the steps depending on the surface finish requirements of your product. There may be one step, two steps or three steps in your process.
Gulf States Saw & Machinery Co., Inc. can provide top-quality abrasive solutions for each customer, no matter what their material or application. Our machines are capable of performing a wide range of tasks depending on the job, such as deburring, slag grinder, edge rounding and calibrating, or finishing. We also have dry metal machines which can be used in many other applications and offer many benefits.
Gulf States Saw & Machinery Co., Inc. can help you find the right dry machine for your needs. Our customers are provided with a range o dry metal machines which will improve their efficiency, safety, and dependability in metalworking.
Safety is also improved by using a deburring machine. It reduces repetitive motion injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome that can be caused by polishing and deburring by hand. Handwork is much more comfortable with a centrifugal barrel machine than it is with handwork. Although centrifugal tumblers require that operators manually load each barrel, the machine's high speed makes up for the labor intensity.
Barrel tumblers create sliding friction by using rotary movement and abrasive-tumbling media. Think of putting rocks into a container and rolling it downhill. The parts are pushed against the media or other parts, and this is called deburring.
Do you require high-quality dry steel machines for your applications? Gulf States Saw & Machinery Co., Inc. offers some of the most reliable designs. We can help you choose the best solution depending on what you need. A wide variety of machines are available, including dry metal machines. We also offer wet metal machines, wood and EZ sanders. Every machine is custom-built to meet the needs of each customer, no matter how exact or demanding.
Gulf States Saw & Machinery Co., Inc. provides a wide range of print finishing products, including paper joggers, glues, drills, and pressure sealers.
The vibratory tumbler uses a side-to–side motion to shake a tub or bowl in a circular pattern, much like the rock polishing kit that many of us used as children. As the media and parts are sheared against each other, the finishing takes place in a scrubbing motion.
Reduce the mess. Regularly clean the sludge. Here's a tip: Place horse bedding in the tank to absorb any remaining water. This makes it easier to use a shovel to remove the remaining sludge.
The detergent is essential. While you may think the cleaning compound was meant for the metal parts of the tumble media, it is actually necessary for its use. The cleaning compound helps keep pores open in the tumbling medium by providing lubricity. If the pores of the tumbling medium become glazed, cutting will cease to work. The metal parts will become black. The soap was not used to make the parts black.

Metal finishing is the process of altering an object's surface in order to improve its appearance and/or durability. Metal finishing is related to electroplating, which is the electrodeposition of a thin surface coating of metal onto another.
The Inovatec Automatic Surface Finishing Machine has a PLC control system that allows you to control the entire surface finishing process. It is a completely automated and labor-saving solution. Suitable for deburring and polishing a large batch of small parts at once.
Surface Finishing Machine has a metallic bowl that holds media, water, and finishing compounds.
