Writing an essay in English that sounds human-like can be difficult. (However,) it requires knowledge of grammar, syntax, and language usage. To do this successfully, one must avoid repetition and use negation, contractions and interjections to make the writing sound more conversational. Additionally, adding a transition phrase between paragraphs can increase readability.
Take for example the following sentence: "I am going to take the train today! It will leave at 10am sharp." This sentence is concise and clear; however, it does not necessarily sound like something a person would say in conversation.
To make this sentence sound more naturalistic, one could rephrase it as follows: "Guess what? I'm taking the train this morning—it departs right at ten o'clock!" Here we've used two contractions ("I'm" and "it's"), an exclamation mark ("!") and an interjection ("guess what?"). We have also added variety to our word choice by replacing "sharp" with "right". As such, our sentence now reads more naturally.
In conclusion, writing an essay that sounds human-like requires careful consideration of grammar as well as a selection of words that don't repeat too often. By including negations, contractions & interjections, we can create sentences that resemble everyday conversations—and add some color to our writing!
