What should we bring? You can bring almost anything, although we have most of the items you need. A towel, polarized glasses, and a sweater/jacket are recommended. Because of the breeze and open boat, it is always cooler out on the water than on land. Bring snacks and drinks! BYOB permitted.
St. Andrew Bay's dolphins are wild animals. Therefore, it is difficult to predict when they will be most active. The season, weather, tide cycles and availability of prey all influence dolphin behavior. There is generally a good chance that dolphins will be seen when the sun is shining and the water is clear and calm. Feeding activities can usually be seen at an outgoing tide. Shell Island Dolphin Tours is a great option. They are on the water almost every day of the calendar.
We encourage it. You can travel solo or with your partner and enjoy a quiet moment in paradise. Or you can cruise with your family and search for souvenir seashells or sand dollars.
We sometimes get a chance to swim and snorkel with dolphins if the conditions are safe and favorable for that. They are wild dolphins and do have a mind of their own. We do not feed or harass dolphins. This is why we do not guarantee any swimming with dolphins. We follow and support regulations and guidelines set forth by the Marine Mammal Protection Act on all our boat tours.
