Please allow the young performers of our performance company to lead you into the Winter Wonderland. These up-and-coming musicians will take you on an exciting journey filled with the joy of the festive season. Character development, musicianship, and the artists' dedication to their craft will all serve to captivate the audience's attention and bring them closer. Their performance is sure to put a smile on your face just in time for the holiday season!

The duration of the show is around thirty-five minutes. Following each performance, there will be a photo opportunity for families with their dancers.

Come to the opening performance of the 2023 Siempre La Guitarra Concert Series featuring masters of the guitar Mario Diaz and David Tutmark. The audience at this concert will also get the chance to sample the excellent wines and wood-fired pizza from Ankeny Vineyards!

Michael Diaz

Multi-instrumentalist Mario Daz has performed all throughout the United States and South America. He plays voice and plucked strings. He holds faculty positions at Reed College, Willamette University, and Portland State University. Furthermore, he serves as the Director of the PSU Guitar Series, for which he was honored in 2020 with the PSU Foundation Philanthropic Cultivation Award. At Young Musicians & Artists, Oregon's oldest summer music program, he oversees the guitar program. Mario works as a clinician and judge throughout the region in addition to running a private teaching facility in Portland.

Dáz's solo and collaborative work span a variety of genres and traditions, from jazz to classical. Alongside artists including Antonio Rey, Dave Eggar, Martin Zarzar, Portland Opera, Third Angle New Music, 45th Parallel, Fear No Music, the Oregon Guitar Quartet, and Oregon Catholic Press, he has toured, recorded, and/or performed as a sideman.

Mario has a Bachelor's degree in music from Portland State University, along with a professional studies certificate in recording arts and music production. He also studied with composer/guitarist Sergio Assad at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he earned a Master's degree in classical guitar performance.

Toby Tutmark

David Tutmark, a guitarist, keeps a full schedule in the Pacific Northwest in addition to touring internationally. David started a successful performance career after graduating from PSU with a Bachelor's degree in classical guitar performance. Between 2012 and 2019, he performed in over 350 events. David has made a significant amount of solo and group guitar duet tours, appearing in Chile, Mexico, Italy, and all around the United States. As part of the Entrecuerdas guitar festival in 2018, he undertook a protracted solo tour in Chile. Mr. Tutmark received an invitation to play at the esteemed international guitar festival "Cuerdas Al Aire" in Lima, Peru, in 2019. David was invited to participate as a featured musician in the Guitarrando guitar festival in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, in 2022. David teaches classical guitar at Clackamas Community College in Oregon City, where he is a member of the faculty. A new concerto for guitar and orchestra was written by Mr. Tutmark in close collaboration with a composer from Portland, Oregon, and was presented by David in 2022. David's love of the guitar inspired him to establish the "Siempre La Guitarra" classical guitar performance series in Portland, Oregon, in 2018. The series features outstanding performers from all around the world. David is renowned for his visceral yet refined playing style, and he constantly provides enthralling performances of both conventional and modern classical guitar.
