Swim with Panama City’s resident pod of wild bottle-nosed dolphins in their natural home on your trip aboard super-fast boats specially designed for finding and visiting with the dolphins. Unlike the larger tour boats that carry up to 150 people, Blue Dolphin Tours carries only 6 passengers on some boats & 7-15 on other boats (children of all ages included). We can have you in the water with your snorkel gear on quickly and without all the splashing and disruptions that large groups create, often frightening the dolphins away.
If conditions allow it, we sometimes have the opportunity to swim and snorkel alongside dolphins. They are wild dolphins and can think for themselves. We do NOT feed or harass dolphins. This is why we don't guarantee dolphin swimming. All boat tours are guided by the Marine Mammal Protection Act.
Our Dolphin and snorkeling tours start with a search for wildlife. We often find the Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins. Our Tour guides and Captains are both locals and are familiar with the dolphin behavior in Panama City Beach.
To start off your tour, our guides will show you the beauty of Shell Island. This 7 mile stretch of undeveloped paradise is a barrier island that runs east to west between the Gulf of Mexico and St. Andrews Bay. This is Florida at its most natural, far away from the theme parks and resorts. Shell Island is a home for endangered species like loggerhead sea turtles and piping plovers, and is known for the abundance of beautiful shells that are found on the beaches.
We also offer boat tours if you have people with whom it would be difficult to ride the Waverunner. We have a dock that is easily accessible so everyone can enjoy our beautiful lake. Each boat can hold six passengers. But, we're happy enough to bring multiple boats on a tour for you and your entire group. Like with the Waverunner tour, we'll travel at your own pace and make sure we see everything that you want.

You will see Bottlenose Dolphins on your Dolphin Tours. They are similar to the Flipper. Because they are found mostly in shallow waters, it is easy to locate them. The uniqueness of our St. Andrews Bay State Park location is the fact that it is where Dolphins hunt for food. Shell Island is also frequented by the Dolphins to see the holiday-makers. They are playful and curious in their natural environment. These amazing creatures are so fascinating to our guests, and it's easy to get close.
