Insulation Baffles Cardboard
Non-integral baffles are also used to prevent the material from getting into places it shouldn't. It is made up of various insulation materials, which are joined together by a polypropylene Web. SmartBaffle prevents insulation from getting into unwelcome areas such as floors or exterior walls. The device increases air flow and circulation, creates proper ventilation and prevents insulation from deteriorating before its time. This will ensure that you don't have to worry about replacing it anytime soon. It can actually be used up to 20 years if it is installed correctly.
Insulation baffles are an easy way to increase the air flow in your attic. They provide a channel for air to flow through exterior soffit vents and channel it upward to the attic floor. They also help control the temperature and remove moisture. These baffles come in a variety of colors and sizes and can be installed in a variety of locations.
Michigan residential construction code requires baffles to be installed in all cavities. But, Ecotelligent Homes does not consider this the gold standard. Instead, it is the minimum required. Our basic attic insulation package, which goes above and beyond the minimum code requirements, includes air sealing exterior top plates and baffle installation in each cavity.
