The CNC Beam Drill Line is a hit among small and medium fabricators, who can fabricate both structural steel as well as miscellaneous metals. The CNC Drill Line was first introduced in 2003 and has been used by more than 600 steel fabricators around the globe.

CNC Drill Line is able to import DXF files. It can then use these files to create 3-D shapes, provided that the steel has been detailed according to certain rules. These rules may not be applicable to your current detailing and might need some adjustments. This process is not as smooth as the 3-D modeling software.

We believe that, at this time, based upon the prices from different suppliers, the customer would be better off with high-quality Ocean Penetrator turn drill bits as well as a quality sharpener.

"..We have drilled about 25,000 holes since we bought our CNC Drill Line around four months back. We used to need to drill every hole in 5 minutes. It takes us about. 30 seconds per hole = a savings totaling 1875 manhours in just 4 months. This saves us $84,375. This machine will pay for its cost in less that one year. It speeds up our production and frees up floor space to allow for additional jobs.

GSS Machinery staff and personnel have been a tremendous support to me. Without them, I believe we wouldn't be in the position we find ourselves in in the steel fabricating markets.

MultMaster can be used as an extension of the Roller Feed measuring system to perform cuts that may otherwise require manual positioning. This accessory simplifies material processing with a Voortman drill/saw tandem system. It automates the processing and reprocessing of small remnant sections.

CNC Drill Line was designed for fabricators and general job shop personnel who need to drill holes in all kinds of steel profiles. These questions will help you determine if the machine is right for you.

GSS Machinery gets asked often by our customers which drill bits to use. Should they use twist drill bits, or insert bits. As this will help our customers be more competitive and more profitable, it is our number one goal to reduce the cost per hole. But it is crucial that they understand all of their options. This will increase your productivity and automation, as well as optimize your workflow. Voortman's extensive range of Beam Drill Lines can accommodate any production or company.

Z-Reader Probe-The Z-Reader Probe is a device that maps the location of the surface. It can be programmed or manually controlled. It can be disabled while cutting, and it can be pulled out of harm's reach. It can be activated to verify the surface at each pierce prior to cutting, or to drive surface mapping for the entire part before cutting begins. It is used to initialize or zero the device to the desired surface and then tracks or accumulates the difference between that zeroing effort.

All of our beam drill lines machines are equipped with central lubrication, linear guides, and a tool cooling to ensure smooth operation. There is a four-station tool changer within each coordinate system. This allows the machine to drill and mill, scribe, countersink, or tap as required. Tools can be easily swapped mid-operation. A positive beam positioning arm is attached to the feed conveyor. It allows for more precise positioning of the beam as it moves through the drillline. The rack and pinion system maintains.004" making our steel beam drilllines more accurate than friction roll machines.

Programming the CNC Drill Line program is simple even if done manually. Peddimat software is used to program the CNC Drill Line. Most operators can learn how most parts are programmed in under an hour. Of course practice makes perfect. However, it is easiest to program the machine from a CAD file. It is recommended that you use a 3D modeling software, such as StruMis or ProSteel 3D to create the CAD drawings. These files can then be imported directly into a machine. The operator just needs to select the part that is to be processed, and hit the Cycle start button.

Frequently Asked Questions

It is considered a girder if it is the main structural support made up of smaller beams. The Code does not specify the dimensions that will distinguish a beam and girder.

The H beam's cross section is more robust than that of the I beam. This means it can support a heavier load. The cross section of the H beam, on the other hand, can only bear direct load and tensile. However, it cannot resist twisting due to its narrow cross section. It can only bear force in one direction.

You will need at least 4-2x16 or 8x16 wood beams to span 20 feet. A 4 nailed 2x16, 4-2x16, or 8x16 wood beam will allow you to span 20 feet.

CNC drilling is a process where a rotating cutter cuts holes in a stationary piece of workpiece. These holes are usually made to accept machine screws or bolts. They can also be used to enhance the aesthetics of the component.

C-beam has lower strength tolerances than the I beam, which leads to lighter components. Continue reading if you have never used C-beam profiles.
