A restaurant owner in Idaho says he wants to make sure his customers know exactly what they're getting into when they eat there. "We want people to come here and feel comfortable," says Chris Anderson, co-owner of the Idaho Bar & Grill in Boise. "So we try to offer something for everyone." Anderson says he knows some diners might prefer a burger over a steak, while others will go straight for the lobster roll. So he's built his menu around those preferences. He calls it "the Idaho way." The menu features items like chicken wings, burgers, steaks, pasta, seafood, salads, sandwiches and desserts. But there are also vegetarian options, including tofu and tempeh dishes, along with gluten-free bread and rolls. And because many of his customers don't drink alcohol, Anderson makes sure to offer beer, wine and cider. Anderson says he tries to keep prices reasonable too. Many items cost less than $10, and most meals under $20. He adds that he doesn't mind if guests bring their dogs inside. "I've had people bring their dog in and sit down next to us," he says. "That's just part of our family now." And Anderson says the restaurant isn't afraid to experiment either. Recently, he added a dessert called the "Creamy Mooch." It's a chocolate cake topped with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. "People love it," he says. "They say it tastes like a milkshake." But Anderson admits that being open about the menu hasn't always been easy. When he opened the restaurant six months ago, he says, he received negative feedback. Some customers thought it was weird that he didn't serve alcohol. Others complained that the prices seemed high.
